Early purchasing homework has given us the following specs:
(2) Quad Core Xeon 2.5GHz processors
12GB+ of DDR3 server rated RAM
(4) SAS 15,000RPM hard drives in RAID 10 for reliability and redundency
Redundant power supplies
SAS RAID controller card
Dual Gigabit NIC's

Now obviously depending on when we raise the amount of money these specs may go up as costs go down.

To sweeten the deal, put my money where my mouth is, and because I hate to ask for money/donations I/Schlup am going to donate $500 on top of the $3000 in the fundraising drive. That means that if the community can come up with $3000 I will come up with $500, and maybe more depending on what configuration services will cost. The server will then be fully owned by the BulletProof Nerds Gaming Community. This will also decrease our monthly recurring charges that we have to pay each month because we won't have to rent the server anymore, we'll only have to pay for the bandwidth and the rack charges at the datacenter which is a little bit less expensive (as well as the game server which is a different server that BPN wholly owns and operates now). I realize times are tough for everybody but every little bit helps and if you are one of the more fortunate folks who can afford to contribute a little extra chunk of money to this cause it is very much appreciated by everyone in the community.
